About SW Suburbs

The Southwest Suburbs are among the fastest growing in Illinois, and with good reason. Interstates 55, 80, 88 and 355; Illinois State Highways 59 and 43; and U.S. Routes 30 and 45 are all easily accessible. With its close proximity to highways, airports and train stations, many businesses and residents are looking to make the southwest suburbs their new home.

Many of these suburbs, such as Frankfort and Mokena have existed for quite some time, and their nationally registered Historic Districts boasts a unique variety of antique and specialty shops, art galleries, and award-winning restaurants.

The suburbs Southwest of Chicago are some of the finest around and are outstanding places to raise a family. Some of the best school systems in the country are found here, and of course the pace is a little bit slower (and less hectic and harrowing) than other areas of Chicagoland.

Also ever present in the area, is the vast forest preserve areas, which has kept its residents familiar with the surrounding nature and wildlife. Residents here have immediate access to the Palos and Tinley Creek forest preserves, covering 10,000 acres. Nature paths and hiking and biking trails wind through the preserve.

Metra offers commuter rail service from Joliet to Chicago both via the Heritage corridor and the Rock Island Line, and service from Orland Park to Chicago via the Southwest Service. This makes commuting into the Downtown area a simple and pleasant experience. Pace bus service provides transportation to Tinley Park, Orland Park, and Midway Airport. Chicagoís OíHare International Airport, the worldís busiest, is 30 miles away. While Midway Airport is 19 miles northeast of Orland Park.

The Southwest suburbs are a wonderful area to relocate to, as is evidenced by their rapid growth. Grocery stores, entertainment, and all the amenities one could ask for are close at hand. The Southwest suburbs also enjoy a low crime rate. Housing is affordable, and the standard of living is quite high.
